The battle of the running tops BodyPost and Under Armour   by Maria Jones

I wanted the perfect running tops for me. The perfect does not mean only superior athletic performance but also mean a decent outlook. So I decided to try two well-known brands BodyPost and Under Armour. First I decided what my requirements from a perfect running vest are. In my test both the garment showed enhanced performance and innovative technology in all running conditions.

I tried both the kits with a test of five mile running and judged the comfort ability, quality, look and technical performance of keeping me cool and dry during the run. I noticed that the BodyPost vest looks great on my body but it is not the only criteria for choosing a running vest.

I have to say that I was very pleasantly proved wrong on this, and the BodyPost moisture transport system that is incorporated into the fabric definitely did the job – I still felt cool and dry even towards the end of my fast paced five mile sprint. The additional bust support provided by the built in shelf bra was also a welcome addition – something that makes all the difference in comfort and confidence when performing high intensity activity. One of the most common problem of all running top is that those rides up when working out. I didn’t face that trouble with BodyPost tank top and it stayed firmly in place throughout the run.

After a long run I was tired and unable to change my cloths for around half an hour. But by this time I found my top fully dry and there’s been no sign that I was running so long! I would also feel confident enough to use this top after a work out session, for instance, to stop for a drink in the bar at the gym, without having to change into something else, as it is very flattering fit and look. After the use, I washed it with the rest of my laundry, and it came out looking just as good with no need to iron. It was dry and ready a few hours later all set to be worn again. The Women Interval Singlet by Under Armour looks, on the surface, to be a more serious piece of exercise kit, and as such, I was expecting a higher level of performance from it. First I selected the medium size for me but I found that it was very tight fit. So I again asked for the large size. The Moisture Transport System and the strategic ventilation technology in Under Armour tops give you excellent result on the run.

Though, I did feel slightly uncomfortable as the back of the garment seemed to pull surprisingly. This was not a huge issue, but still worth noting. It also include an anti odor system that keeps you aesthetically pleasant throughout long run. The top, however, does not include any bust support, which I didn’t face that trouble with BodyPost running vest and it stayed firmly in place throughout the run.

The Under Armour top appears a little loose and baggy that is not preferred by most women. This top is obviously at home in a running or sports actions, but when I had finished my activity I would change out of it. It is also machine washable and quick drying as the previous one. Based on all of the above criteria, my overall winner is the BodyPost Athletic Generator Top. The main reasons why I chose this top are based on the added bust support and more feminine and fitted appearance, whilst still having the cooling and dryness technology offered by the Under Armour top.
